Good Morning,
The International Breastfeeding Conference in Deerfield Beach Florida invites the submission of abstracts to be
considered for paper presentations and poster session. Content of abstracts should demonstrate the
application of strategies to human lactation, breastfeeding management and research. Case studies
are also acceptable. Abstracts may describe contributions to theory, completed work involving
human lactation, breastfeeding management and research, work in progress, or proposed application
of human lactation and breastfeeding management to other health issues.
Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:
•Breastfeeding issues of diverse cultural groups
•The role of breastfeeding in the development of autoimmune diseases
•Experiences with the Baby-Friendly Hospital InitiativeTM
•Breastfeeding by adolescent mothers
•Studies on milk insufficiency
•Studies on growth
•Diet and nutrition for breastfeeding mothers
•Drugs in breast milk
•Preventing hypoglycemia in normal babies
•Effect of labor and delivery medications on the neonate
•Breastfeeding promotion program ideas and implementation strategies
•Development of materials for peer counselor programs and experiences in implementing them
•Strategies for teaching mothers with 24-hour discharge and community follow-up
The proposal must be received by June 1, 2018. Authors of program proposals selected for
presentation will be notified by June 15, 2018 and will be requested to submit additional materials.
Applicants are responsible for any and all expenses related to the conference. Presenters will be
entitled to a substantially reduced registration fee for the core conference.

Workshop Proposals and Poster Session Proposals should include: |
1. A cover page that contains: |
| A. The title of the paper |
| B. The names of all authors, their degrees, and institutional affiliations |
| C. The name of the corresponding author making the presentation (including telephone number and e-mail address) |
| D. Whether the application represents a contribution to theory, completed work, work
in progress, or proposed work; |
| E. The presentation format (oral, poster, either) |
2. | A second page that contains only the title of the proposed presentation and a
500 word, single-spaced abstract in size 12 type, 1" margin on all sides

3. | A curriculum vitae or resume for each of the authors
|
4. | A typed bibliography for the abstract
|
5. | A list of all related funding sources
|
